How does Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services collect personal data?
Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services provides services in the areas of consumer credit, mortgages, non-life insurance and business financing. To provide these services, Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services may work with partners. Your personal data is requested when you apply for a product with Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services or when you visit the website of Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services. In that case, we also store personal data in the form of an IP address or cookie. You can also provide personal data in the phone or chat conversations you have with us. We record these in our customer system. Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services may also obtain personal information from other sources, which is used, among other things, in the acceptance procedure.
Some financial products and services can only be provided after you have given us information about any criminal history. We only ask for data from the period of 8 years preceding the application.
For what purposes do we process personal data?
Your personal data is used by Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services for:
- Entering into and maintaining an agreement;
- The assessment and possible acceptance of a mortgage, consumer credit and/or non-life insurance;
- Inclusion in our systems for contract administration and customer relations (business operations);
- Ensuring controlled and sound financial services in the context of the Dutch Financial Supervision Act (Wft), as well as compliance with other legal requirements, such as the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act (Wwft) and the Sanctions Act of 1977;
- Improving our services;
- Compliance with (legal) obligations, such as fraud prevention and providing evidence;
- Expanding our commercial relationship with you through marketing and promotion.
Whose personal data do we process?
Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services processes personal data of clients and people who show interest in our products and services, which is actively provided when applying for and/or taking out a mortgage, consumer credit and/or insurance and in the case of business financing. In addition, Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services processes personal data of people connected to a company or organisation with which Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services has, wishes to have, or has had a relationship.
What are the legal grounds?
Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services has the following grounds for processing your personal data:
- Almost all personal data we request from you is necessary for the ‘performance of the agreement’. The lender and/or insurer cannot process an application without this information.
- For sending a newsletter or other relevant information, we ask for your ‘consent’. You always have the option to unsubscribe. In the case of ‘legitimate interest’, we may use your data, for example, to gain insight into our client portfolio. This enables us to optimise our services.
- Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services has a ‘legal obligation’ to provide aftercare as long as you are our client. This duty of care stems from the Dutch Financial Supervision Act (Wft). We must also be able to demonstrate how a financing and/or an insurance has been arranged. For this purpose, we must retain the information provided.
- Your Dutch citizen service number (BSN) is not retained by us. As soon as the documents have been submitted to the provider, we will keep copies of the documents in which your passport photo and citizen service number have been blacked out.
Sharing with third parties
Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services does not share your personal data with third parties for purposes that are incompatible with the purposes mentioned above, unless you have given us permission to do so. Furthermore, laws and regulations may require us to provide your data to the Dutch tax authorities, a supervisory authority or a government institution. Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services does not share personal data with countries outside the EU.
For the execution of our business operations and depending on the services provided to you, Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services may provide your personal data to the following persons or parties:
- Financial institutions (such as banks or insurers) with whom we apply for a financial product for you or with whom you hold a financial product that we manage for you, or for which we guide you during the term of the product;
- Persons and institutions that must be informed on the basis of a legal obligation;
- External parties that process data under our authority and responsibility, such as our IT service provider or our (direct) marketing agency;
- Loss adjusters, fraud-prevention databases such as FISH and CIS — notaries, lawyers, accountants (where applicable).
Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services will make every effort to ensure that these third parties adhere to the principles set out in this Privacy Statement. To the extent that a party processes your personal data on our behalf, we will require that party to take appropriate measures to safeguard the security and integrity of your personal data and to process your data only in accordance with our instructions.
Retention periods
Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services does not retain your personal data longer than is legally permitted and longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. How long this is depends on the type of data and the purposes for which it is processed. Retention periods may vary per purpose. These periods are laid down in our processing register.
Usually a retention period of 5 years applies after termination of the financial product and/or service. We keep a complaint file for 1 year after closing the complaint file, and an incident file is kept for 5 years.
Cookies
Kamp & Vulhop Financial Services collects information on its website by means of cookies. These are small text files that a website automatically sends to your browser. We use these cookies for statistical purposes.
